Temporal Recovery of Polymer-Coated Urea-N by Kentucky Bluegrass in the Field

چکیده
Relative to soluble N sources, controlled release fertilizer (CRF) fosters consistent turfgrass growth response and improved canopy quality while reducing loss as nitrate, ammonia, and/or N2O from target systems. Commercial CRFs afford managers greater operational efficiency flexibility in nutrient management planning compel the investigation of application rate thresholds guide regional agencies tasked with their regulation. The experimental objective was systematically evaluate, under an array field conditions, Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) vigor/yield, offtake, density, color temporal a single granular made at practical rates. In May 2014 2015, plots within mature system were fertilized by conventional urea or Duration 45 polymer coated (PCU) 43.9 kg·ha?1 (0.9 lbs N·1000 ft?2); PCU (Duration 90, 120, 43% Polyon) 87.8 (1.8 ft?2). Resulting measures described dependent variables proved similar over both growing seasons highly on attribute. Following 18-week evaluations, average total percent recoveries urea, 45, Polyon (43% N) 63%, 87%, 82%, 78%, 77%, respectively. Temporal among commercial fertilizers indicates varying suitability commodity seasonal requirements. Hypothesis tests experiment-end unaccounted totals show one kg N·ha?1 100% treatments poses no environmental risk than fertilizer.

Salinity Tolerance of Kentucky Bluegrass as Affected by Salicylic Acid
Salinity is one of the greatest environmental challenges facing plant growth and development in the 21st century. Salicylic acid (SA) is a phenolic compound and signal molecule involved in the regulation of plants responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. This greenhouse experiment was conducted to determine effects of SA application on Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) responses to salinit...
متن کاملMeasuring sod strength of Kentucky bluegrass and Supina bluegrass
The extent of root, rhizome, and/or stolon growth determines turfgrass sod maturity. In 1998, at Michigan State University, the Calrochan Sod Puller (CSP) was developed to measure the force necessary to tear a piece of sod. The CSP uses a battery powered hydraulic pulley to provide a consistent pulling force, and is attached to a load cell. In August 1999, sod strength measurements of different...
متن کاملThe Enhancement of Drought Stress Tolerance of Kentucky Bluegrass by Prohexadione-Calcium Treatment
Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) is one of the most widely used turfgrasses for home lawns, golf courses, parks, and athletic fields in temperate climates. Oxidative stress caused by drought stress is a major limiting factor for grass cultivation in arid and semi-arid regions. The objective of this study was to investigate whether Prohexadione-Calcium (Pro-Ca) may play a role in promoting ...
